**Part II.**

### *On the glory of the body, or on the second robe.*

### DIVISION OF THE TEXT.

Above the Master treated of the glory of the spirit, in which the first robe consists. Here he treats of the glory of the body, in which the second robe consists. Now this part is divided into three parts according to the three things which he determines. For *first* he shows that in the resumption of bodies there will be an increase of glory. *Secondly*, he determines the manner by which the glory of the spirit will be increased, there: *If it moves anyone, what need there is.* *Thirdly*, he determines what sort of body will be restored to the beatified soul, namely a spiritual one, not an animal one; and he does this there: *Accordingly, since this body is now not animal* etc.

### TREATMENT OF THE QUESTIONS.

For the understanding of this part, inquiry is made concerning the glory of the body. And concerning this, two things are principally asked.

*First*, inquiry is made concerning the glory of the body in general.

*Secondly*, in particular.

Concerning the first, three things are principally asked.

*First*, inquiry is made concerning the glorification of the body.

*Secondly*, concerning the distinction of the dowries.

*Thirdly*, concerning the remuneration of the senses.

Concerning the first, two things are asked.

*First*, it is asked whether the glory of the body belongs to the substance of beatitude.

*Secondly*, inquiry is made concerning the origin of the beatitude or glory of the body.
